A fascist “parody” account isn’t something that would be well-received on lemmy.ml, because we won’t allow it to become an “ironic” nazi bar like 4chan. Lessons were learned from Gamergate about fascist entryism into social media spaces. I’m not saying that you are doing that, I’m only explaining the reasoning behind defending against the possibility.

I don’t think federation vs centralization is the primary differentiator. I think corporate vs non-profit/ad-free/donation-only/volunteerism is. Our marketing budget is goose egg. It’s all word-of-mouth.

Leaving Firefox and its derivatives is mostly out of the frying pan and into the fire. Proprietary browsers are worse, and Chrome and its derivatives are worse, thanks to Manifest V3.
That leaves Firefox/Gecko derivatives, like LibreWolf, and possibly some Safari/WebKit derivatives like GNOME Web.
Arrested Development has such intricate humor that it takes multiple passes to absorb it all. For some jokes, the punchline for the set-up doesn’t come until some episodes—or even seasons—later. Just the first three seasons, though. Season 4 & 5 were made years later and aren’t the same.
A question framed as having a only two possible answers is a dichotomous question, and if the answer doesn’t fit that framing then the framing is false. It’s the wrong question to ask.

This is a false dichotomy.
Are they a necessary evil?
Framing things in moralistic terms just further obfuscates things.
The FDA is an enormous organization. It contains contradictions. It contains multitudes. Yes it is in a variety of ways compromised by the capitalist class, but that doesn’t mean the entire enterprise is without value. Black and white thinking isn’t going to cut it here.
Should they be thrown in a volcano and remade?
If you remade the FDA from scratch under capitalism, the result would be roughly the same, because the structures of political power would still be the same.
Not a real thing. “Tankies” are in no way “conservative.” They want socialism, while fascists want to kill socialists and maintain the capitalist order.
